„Positive Impact“ – nejnovější iniciativa hotelového řetězce Attitude Hotels

Mauricijská hotelová skupina Attitude Hotels je známa nejen svými luxusními hotely, ale i výjimečně zodpovědným způsobem, kterým je provozuje. Mladá skupina, která vznikla teprve v roce 2008, již v roce 2012 spustila program Green Attitude a o dva roky později program Otentik Experiences.

Letos v červenci přichází nejnovější iniciativa skupiny, totiž Positive Impact, neboli Pozitivní dopad. Samozřejmě nejsou jediní, kdo se v turismu snaží o udržitelnost, ale zatímco všeobecně rozšířená je především snaha o neutrální dopad na prostředí, ve kterém hotely podnikají, Attitude Hotels jdou dál.

Mezi devíti hotely, které skupina provozuje, patří i hotel Lagoon Attitude, který je příkladem toho, jak chce celý řetězec v budoucnu fungovat. Tento ekologicky fungující hotel naprosto vyřadil ze svého provozu plasty na jedno použití, ostatní hotely budou následovat jeho příkladu do1. listopadu letošního roku. V hotelu rovněž působí vzdělávací a výzkumné středisko, které zaměstnává na plný úvazek dva vědce. Ti nejen studují a chrání mangrovníky a mořské řasy v místní laguně a usilovně pracují na zpomalení eroze, ale současně vzdělávají hotelové hosty i příslušníky místní komunity.

Skupina také podporuje místní firmy, a to všude tam, kde činnost těchto společností souzní s hodnotami, které skupina vyznává. První firmou, které se této podpory dostalo, je společnost Kokodezil vyrábějící kosmetiku, a to ručně a výhradně z místních surovin. Potraviny se rovněž získávají z místních zdrojů. Např. farma manželů Mayavenových pěstuje pro hotely saláty a zeleninu, a dává tak práci dvaceti lidem v malé vesnici, u které leží.

Kromě toho, že řetězec zaměstnává místní, o obyvatelstvo ostrova se stará i jinak. Kupříkladu jednou ročně poskytne vysokoškolské stipendium dítěti jednoho svého zaměstnance. Podporuje i místní talenty. Najímá mauricijské řemeslníky na výrobu nábytku, přestože dovoz z Bali nebo Číny by byl levnější. Hotely jsou vyzdobeny díly místních umělců a fotografů. A ti, co mají hudební talent, se mohou zúčastnit soutěže, kterou Attitude Hotels pořádají každý rok, nebo mohou v hotelech skupiny vystupovat.

Devět hotelů, které skupina na Mauritiu provozuje, zaměstnává 1 600 lidí. Neříká se jim ale zaměstnanci, nýbrž „family members,“ tedy rodinní příslušníci. To o něčem vypovídá.
