Einstein St.Gallen – Hotel Congress Spa

Most certainly, Albert Einstein was never guest of our house. Whether Isaac David Einstein, who gave our house its name, was also good in physics and bad in French is unknown. But one thing is relatively certain: the Einstein St.Gallen is not just a hotel – it is an institution and a piece of history of the city of St.Gallen, the city of textiles and science.

Closely interwoven with the textile industry

The neoclassical five-storey building was constructed by textile supplier Jacob Allgäuer’s widow in 1830. After the building’s owner had changed several times, Isaak David Einstein acquired the premises and began manufacturing embroidery here. In 1978, the St. Gallen textile manufacturer Max Kriemler bought the property, renovated it from top to bottom and turned it into the four-star Einstein Hotel, which was opened in 1983. The building kept the name of its previous owner.

Einstein St.Gallen wins laurels
